A Simple Black Skirt From Talbot’s
Tea on the Ritz…an obviously “Prissy Day”!
It was 75 levels and another stunning day in South Florida. Tea on the Ritz. On the seashore…in Naples…it was clearly a “Prissy Day” y’all!
The Ritz-Carlton, Naples, Florida
This is “What I used to be Carrying”…
A easy black skirt from Talbot’s, a inexperienced shantung silk blouse from who-knows-the place (undoubtedly from a Southern store though), my pearls, and a cute petite Ferragamo pocketbook.
I really like this little Ferragamo pocketbook…it would not hold a lot…however it’s tres cute!
My trusty Ferragamo pumps (I promise I do have other footwear y’all…), gold Rolex watch, pearl earrings and bracelet, and my Cartier wedding band.Let’s go inside for tea…in the Foyer Lounge of the Ritz. For sure, everything is beautifully appointed right down to the last element! Afternoon Tea at the Ritz-Carlton is a ritual steeped in tradition since the hotel opened in 1985. Tea is served using positive Wedgewood china, decorated in the delicate “India” pattern. Each element of the service and its presentation is attended to with the utmost care to make sure that every experience at the Ritz becomes a treasured reminiscence.
In fact, there was a pianist taking part in soft music on the child grand…simply perfect ferragamo shoe label for Afternoon Tea. Now y’all know this gentleman by no means tires of watching all of the prissy ladies strolling by way of the Lobby of the Ritz!
The easy, but elegant tablesetting. Notice the crisp white linens, and that the cup handle is positioned in the four o’clock place and the fold of the napkin is closest to the plate.
I chose to take the traditional Tea Service, which consisted of freshly steeped loose leaf tea and a collection of dainty tea sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and fruit tartlets and pastries. Two teas were served whith this service–the very professional server Dominique urged the Vanilla Rooibos and that i selected the Thunderbolt Darjeeling. The Rooibos is a caffeine-free natural infusion, not a tea. The vanilla beans gave the rooibos simply the right candy taste. The Darjeeling (champagne of teas) was a very brisk tea with a trace of muscatel. This is the tiered tea tray with all the goodies…only for Miss Janice! While having fun with my tea, I practiced each dining etiquette rule I’ve ever identified and I need to say, it was so nice to be surrounded by others who had been doing the identical! It goes with out saying…there have been no pinkies raised in this place!
The Ritz even has their own logo of the lion and crown on the tea tray!
Sugar cubes, a should for Afternoon tea…
Devonshire cream and fruit preserves were served with the scones and although I did not taste the preserves…aren’t the little containers just too cute!
Now y’all know I merely should award the Ritz-Carlton “Five Silver Spoons.” Thank you to the waitstaff on your impeccable customer support!
Congratulations to the Ritz-Carlton, Naples, Florida…
